Stop Licking Me!

I say this a lot when I'm typing up a new blog entry and PK feels he HAS to be on my lap at the exact same time. It doesn't matter what I apply--body oil, lotion, sunscreen, insect repellent: PK is all about licking it off. That is, until he gets spooked by the sound of a falling pen and scratches me bloody in an effort to get OFF my lap.

I just finished and sent this week's column about the McAllen Nature Center to The Monitor. Not 20 minutes later, I get a call from the director of Parks and Recreation who told me all sorts of interesting info on the Nature Center and its origins. Must toodle off to revise article.

Before I go, I'll post some pictures from the San Antonio trip. And nudge PK away, now that he's eyeing my lap again.

ME at the Disneyesque Riverwalk. (I've gone native, in that I've started to dress up to travel. Shoppers from Mexico make the rest of us look like slobs).

Yellow wildflowers.

Blurry purple wildflowers.

ME and Mike in front of the Alamo.

Don't you love all the wildflowers in Texas along the highways? You can thank Lady Bird Johnson for that one! I know we're grateful for her in these parts. Because of her, there are almost no billboards along I-495 in the D.C. area!

By the way--I think you're hair looks good!

Yeah, I wish we'd stopped to get up close pictures of the bluebells and the pools of yellow, purple and red flowers. Lady Bird Johnson was a freakin' genius.

Thanks. The hair isn't how I'd like it, but it's passable until I need another haircut.

Love your skirt! And yeah, I agree with dressing for travel. Americans are the only people who wear shorts.

I like your hair, too!

I had the same thought about your hair - looks great - especially for traveling hair!
