Tuesday morning. Grocery shopping. Canned foods aisle, bean section. Limited selection.
Store brand, Hill Country Faire.
Goya brand, budget-friendly y hecho en Mexico.
S&W on the Specialty shelf; overpriced.
Which brand far outnumbers all these combined?
Bush's Beans. Coincidence?

Actually, Bush's Beans are a pretty common baked bean item east of the Rockies. You'll also find there are products that look vaguely familiar, but you can't quite place for finger on them. For example, in the West, you buy McCormick spices, in the East, it's Schillings. In California, you eat at Carl's Jr., in the East, it's Hardees. In the West, you buy Knudsen's Sour Cream and Cottage Cheese, in the East, it's Breakstone's.
If it's Bush's beans in the east, what would the opposite be? ;)
Bush's has been doing more advertising in the west--the wink-wink/the dog knows the secret family recipe commercials. Hokey.
